Hello there, i have an asus P4C800 E deluxe motherboard.
with a p4 2.6ghz chip. For some reason i cant get it to turn on anymore, it worked fine yesterday.

Ok, so this is where im up to:

I plugged in my headphones so i can hear the diagnostic voice.

I plug in the computer as normal, the green light on the motherboard lights up, but when i power it up i get nothing, no post, the power supply doesnt start, no fans spinning, not even a voice telling me anything.

But when i remove the cpu, the power supply works and so do the fans, and i get a voice saying, that the cpu is missing.

So when i put the cpu back in place it goes to doing nothing again,
is this normal behavior for a burned out cpu?

Unfortunately for you, it is, Though other things Can cause it, so get another cpu, that fits your motherboard, and try it

Seems logical to me to assume something has gone wrong with the CPU. I recommend that you replace it :)
