so i've upgraded several components in my computer, and upon reboot - XP wants to re-activate due to the amount of changes (which is fine - it's a legal copy)

the problem is that when XP starts up, i lose all keyboard/mouse functionality! i can't click "YES" to re-activate, or even press "Y" to complete the deal...

i've tried USB, PS/2 versions and they all work in the BIOS - but when XP starts - i lose input

what to do? :wooha:

what changes have you made??

Did you try connecting both the mouse and keyboard using a PS/2 connector?

i upgraded the motherboard, cpu, and added a 2nd video card - so it was a pretty large upgrade...

i've tried PS/2 and USB keyboards and mice and tested my kbd/mouse on other PC's as well - so i know they work...

here's my setup...

Intel 975XBX2
Core 2 Quad CPU
2GB RAM (800Mhz)
dual ATI 1800XtX in Crossfire setup
2x500GB Hitachi Deathstar drives... setup as single spindles
NEC 16x DVD burner...

I have all extra 'stuff' disconnected, i.e. webcam, usb tuner...
