sweet i have ddr2 and a 775 so i can get it.

that wil l depend on the motherboard, and if it can support the new Conroe's. Some boards only support Core Duo... and not Core 2 Duo.

you will want to go thru your system specs and do some research first before buying a CPU blindly, then finding out you have to upgrade a lot more cause the board won't support it. Please provide your specs and we can help with trying to pick out some good parts for what you have.

EDIT: from what I read it onyl supports p4, pent. D, pent. EE, and celeron D.


But that is a biostar 945p.

Yeah that should be a big improvement. I have an e6600 and it is blazing fast even at stock speeds. Just be sure that your motherboard is Socket LGA 775 and not anything else. Core 2 Duos only support LGA 775. You'll need DDR2 RAM too.
