Set up internet connection on windows vista

hi, i just got windows vista and i dont know how to set up a internet connection and it wont detect one can anyone help me ASAP!!!!

Have you checked the Control panel for a network setup wizard. Is the NIC Enabled? And its Driver installed (Device manager)?

Device drivers for you ethernet adapter are not installed.
